Daily Progress
May 8, 2008
One of the greatest determinations you can make in your life is that you will see daily progress. Determine every day that in some way–by attitude, by action, by discipline, by goal-setting, by loving, by learning, or in whatever way–by the end of the day you will have grown in some way. Every day we have opportunities to grow and develop, to sharpen our skills, to gain experience, to learn new things, to broaden our horizon, to be stretched as a person. We should never let a day go by just remaining the same person that we are!
You should never settle for mediocrity, or just being average. You are a special person, uniquely gifted by God to make a difference in our world. You have a special purpose in life. You are the answer to someone’s prayers. People need you and the skills and experience that you carry in your life. God has given you your talents, your personality, your passions, your creativity, and your heart. Use them to be a blessing! Use them to maximize the impact that you can make through your leadership abilities. Don’t sell yourself short! Don’t belittle yourself! Don’t let rough times, or setbacks, or disappointments shake your confidence.
If you will determine to grow, in some way, every day you will find success in life. Open your eyes, open your heart, and open your mind to new things, new ways, new insights, new challenges…and allow yourself to be stretched! Let God transform your life and become the person that He has created you to be!
“Let us go on to maturity….” Hebrews 6:1
“Something Beautiful”
May 4, 2008
Today has been such a beautiful day…sunny skies…nice breeze…the smell of freshly mown grass…the voices of children playing…great time to be with family. This is what life is all about! I cherish these moments and memories.
The words of a very meaningful song have been going through my mind today:
“Something beautiful, something good. All my confusion He understood. All I had to offer Him was brokenness and strife, but He made something beautiful of my life.” Bill Gaither
I give great praise to my Savior, Jesus Christ, for the beauty that He has brought to my life!
