31 Years!

June 19, 2008

Yes, that’s right….today is my anniversary…31 years!  Hard to believe.  It seems like just yesterday when my wife walked down the aisle and we committed our lives to one another.  It was a beautiful day 31 years ago, and it was a beautiful day today.  My love has grown so much over the years and I appreciate my wife more today than ever.  I thank the Lord for such a wonderful helpmeet, companion, lover, and friend.  I am so blessed.

This evening we went to our favorite restaurant, Logan’s, for an anniversary dinner.  We reminisced about things 31 years ago today, and many events in-between.  It was a nice time to reflect and give thanks for what God has done in our lives.  Later in the evening, we called Jon and Michelle and met them at Steak and Shake for some dessert.

There’s a song that says, “Count your many blessings, name them one by one.”  Today has been a good day to do that.  I am so thankful for Mary Lou and the relationship that we have together.  It continues to grow and grow.  How happy I am!

Happy Father’s Day!

June 16, 2008

This has been a great Father’s Day!  Mary Lou and I attended a great worship service this morning and then met our son, Jon, and his wife Michelle at Applebees for lunch.  After lunch we went back to our home and watched the final round of the U.S. Open.  On the last hole Tiger Woods hit a fantastic putt to force a playoff round tomorrow.  In a NASCAR race this afternoon Dale Earnhardt Jr. won a race in Michigan.  Tonight we watched the Lakers defeat the Celtics in game 5 of the NBA finals.  The Celtics are still up 3-2.

It feels good getting back to blogging once again.  My laptap went down almost a month ago and I have not had the opportunity to blog as I like to do.

Today is Father’s Day and I feel so blessed with a wonderful wife and two great sons.  I am so proud of my boys and the leaders that they have developed into.  Both love God and passionately serve Him with their lives and their talents.  God has been so good to me!  I pray that my life will continue to direct others to Jesus…that is my passion!
